In fact, that is the best use for the Ammo Box - to have Recon players on your team with the T-UGS get them replenished. This will help keep radar up so you do not get surprised by any sneak attacks.

Because of this, when you have a recon player on your team who is performing radar duty, you always want to drop your box by him. They will be sure to use it as they will always want to keep their radar active.

Another great thing about the Ammo Box is that it gives you points every time someone on your team uses it. You can get a few hundred points per Ammo Box (the equivalent of 3 kills), so keeping these active can really speed up your leveling times. It is not uncommon to gain an extra 1,000 points per game just by being diligent about keeping your boxes thrown out on the ground.
