Battlefield 3 PKA-S Guide

The Battlefield 3 PKA-S attachment is one of the top optical items you can get in Battlefield 3. When you use this scope, you get a large open zoom (which lets you see most of the screen) with an open red circle in the middle.

This not only makes aiming very easy, but it also makes spotting easy. It is very easy to aim and start shooting, and is perhaps the fastest scope to use. Compared to something like an ACOG which offers magnification, you can start aiming and shooting very quickly with the PKA-S.

Battlefield 3 PKA-S - When To Use

The PKA-S is one of my preferred optics (at least out of the initial optics you unlock) for short-range combat. As mentioned, aiming with this weapon is very fast. There is almost no downtime or vision-blocking when you hold down the sights here.

The other thing I really like about this sight compared to other red-dot type sights or even scopes is that it is very open. Very little of the screen is blocked out when you aim with this attachment. Compare that to using the iron sights or a scope and you will find much of the screen is blacked out as it is taken up by the weapon or the scope.

This makes finding new targets very simple. For example, if you are 100% sure an enemy is around a corner this gun makes it easy to hold down the sights when moving around a corner, finding the target, and shooting. This is much faster than moving around the corner, finding the target, aiming, and then shooting.

In short, using the PKA-S makes it much faster to aim and shoot at targets that are close enough that you would not need magnification.

BF3 PKA-S - Best Combos

I like to use the PKA-S with guns and attachments which favor short-range combat. Anything fully automatic works good here. Additionally, I like to add on a suppressor not only to add stealth, but also to reduce gun kickback.

I do not care about range when using the PKA-S optics anyway, so the downsides of the suppressor (less bullet range) definitely are minor compared to the pros (stealth and reduced kickback).

When you add these with a Foregrip, the combined lack of kickback is really noticeable. This lets you fire an automatic weapon in long spurts with almost no kickback. This pairs really well with the PKA-S since it is best for close-quarters combat (which is when you are likely to fire off long bursts).

The PKA-S is a great sight for automatic weapons at short to mid-ranges. It is definitely one of the top scopes to use when you are planning on fighting battles where you do not need zoom, such as game modes like Team Deathmatch where the map sizes are small.
