Battlefield 3 Secondary Weapon Attachments List and Guide
Note: Each gun is different and may not be able to equip every single secondary weapon
attachment. Some attachments may appear in the primary or secondary slot depending on the gun. If you do not see
the attachment you are looking for here, see our Battlefield 3 Primary Weapon Attachments List.
In this section of our Battlefield 3 guide, we will be revealing a
complete Battlefield 3 Secondary Weapon Attachments List and giving you full strategies for maximizing the
effectiveness of each weapon attachment.
Battlefield 3 Secondary Weapon Accessories List:
Flash Suppressor - The Flash Suppressor eliminates the
flash that is produced when you fire your gun in Battlefield 3. In real life, a flash suppressor exists to prevent
the shooter being blinded by the bright light produced from firing a rifle.
In Battlefield 3 however, shooting your gun is one of the easiest ways to give away your position. If an
opponent sees your gun fire, they can easily move over you and mark you or take you down (or both).

Since you do not show up on the radar just for firing a gun, the Flash Suppressor is essentially a silencer for
people engaging in mid to long-ranged combat. Using this attachment reduces your accuracy, but does not effect your
actual damage much (unlike the full Suppressor which does reduce bullet speed and damage).
Heavy Barrel - The Heavy Barrel increases the accuracy of
your attacks by using heavy match ammo. For some reason, using the heavy ammo does not increase your damage, but
only your accuracy.
The downside here is that a heavy barrel results in much more vertical climb when using the gun. This means that
you can only really use a heavy barrel with single or burst-fire attacks. You might as well turn off automatic mode
(if applicable) by pressing the down arrow on the directional pad, because if you fire more than two or three
bullets at once with a heavy barrel, your aim will be way off course.
Laser Sight - As advertised, picking the Laser Sight
secondary weapon attachment places a laser attachment on your weapon. This shines a laser beam which shines
wherever you aim. The benefit of this is it makes it very clear where you are aiming when you are not zoomed in, so
you can spray and strafe (which is good for close-quarters combat).
When you are attacking from ranged, the laser does somewhat blind your enemy. The downside here is that it also
lets your enemy know he is being targeted, at which point they can often retreat to safety. If you are a fast shot
though you can often take out your opponent before they can react. The Laser Sight does not blind the enemy in the
same way as a tactical light, but the Laser Sight does not give your position away nearly as easily as a Tactical
Light.
Shotgun Ammo - If you are thinking about using a Shotgun
as your main weapon, or at least situationally, there are a lot of different types of shells you can use depending
on your situation. There is the 12G Buckshot, 12g Frag, 12G Slug, and 12G Flechette. We will be discussing these
each individually on the Battlefield 3 Shotgun Shells page.
Suppressor - The Suppressor completely removes muzzle
flash and eliminates a lot of the sound produced by firing a weapon. The downside is that the Suppressor also
reduces power, accuracy, and especially bullet distance. If you want to snipe or attack from range and hide your
position, use a Flash Suppressor.
The normal Suppressor should only be used in an "infiltrate" build where you are trying to sneak up on the other
team and do not want to be heard. You can cause a lot of damage behind enemy lines with this, but you will not get
very far attacking head-on.
Tactical Light - The Tactical Light is a double-edged
weapon accessory, moreso than any of the other Battlefield 3 Secondary attachments on this list. If you shine the
tactical light on a player up close, they are for all purposes blinded and their screen goes entirely white.
On the other hand, your light is like a beacon and lets other players know where you are immediately. It is not
very effective from any sort of range. It might obscure your head a bit if you are shining it directly on a ranged
player, but you really are vulnerable to enemy attacks with this light on.
However, if you do engage in another player in close-combat, the Tactical Light is a huge advantage and can
allow you to win against multiple opponents at once.
